Text: Calculus: Early Transcendental Functions by Smith and Minton, 3rd Edition.

Course Description: This course is the first part in the introduction to single variable Calculus.

Evaluations and Grading: You will be evaluated on weekly homework assignments, two in-class exams, and a final exam. Homework assignments will be administered using Webwork which can be found at
http://hw.math.ucsb.edu/webwork/math3a-01-S08/.
Your initial username and password is your perm number. NO LATE HOMEWORK WILL BE ACCEPTED.

Your final grade will be calculated as follows:
Homework 20%
Exams 35%
Final 45%

Make-Up Policy: Make-ups for exams will only be given with documented University-approved excuses (see University Regulations).

Special Days: There is no class on Monday, May 26 in observation of Memorial Day. Tentative exam dates are Friday, May 2 and Friday, May 30. The last day of class is Friday, June 6. The final exam is on Tuesday, June 10, 12 - 3p.
