Text: Hyperbolic Geometry by J. Anderson

Course Description: This course will be an introduction to hyberbolic geometry. The only prerequisite for this course is MATH 8. My goal is to get through as much material as possible while keeping you eager to learn and challenged by homework problems. The pace of the course will depend upon the enrollment.

Grading: Weekly homework assignments will be given to be turned in each Friday at the beginning of class. No late homework will be accepted. You will also be graded on your class participation, an in-class midterm, and a final. The weights are as follows:

Participation 10%
Homework 25%
Midterm 30%
Final 35%

Make-Up Policy: Make-ups for exams will only be given with documented University-approved excuses (see University Regulations).

Special Days:

There will be no class on the following days:
Monday, November 12 (Veterans' Day)
Friday, November 23 (Thanksgiving break)

The last day of class is Friday, December 7.

The final exam is on Tuesday, December 11 from 8am until 11am.

ADA: Students with disabilities can get assistance from the Office of Services for Students with Disabilities (845-1637). I am happy to work with them and you.
