Course Description: This course will be a continuation of last quarter’s introduction to elementary knot theory. Your grade will depend upon your attendance, participation, presentation of homework problems, and a group project. There will be NO exams or quizzes. As a result, your attendance is paramount! You will be allowed TWO “free” absences—no excuse necessary. However, every absence thereafter will negatively affect your grade in the following sense. On your third absence, your grade drops to an B, fourth absence to a C, and so on (remember, we only meet ten times). Also, if you choose not to do the group project, your grade will drop one letter grade.

This course is meant to be fun, interesting, and a taste of mathematics that you’ve never seen before! I hope that you enjoy it!

ADA: Students with disabilities can get assistance from the Office of Services for Students with Disabilities (845-1637). I am happy to work with them and you.
