Textbook: Differential equations and dynamical systems, by Lawrence Perko, 3rd edition.

Course Description: Math 119B is the second half of a two quarter sequence in Ordinary Differential Equations and Dynamical Systems. Topics include invariant manifolds, planar autonomous flow, Liapunov stability, periodic orbits, bifurcation theory.

Assignments and Grading Policy: Homework will be assigned on Fridays, and will be collected at the beginning of the class on the following Friday. Late homeworks will not be accepted. Please make sure that your name and perm number are written on your paper and staple your papers together. You are encouraged to discuss homework problems with other students in the class; however, you must write up all of your solutions on your own.

Quiz:

Tests: There will be a midterm and a final exam. Make-up exams will only be given in exceptional circumstances, and then only when notice is given to me before hand and a suitable written excuse forthcoming.
