Since the Math Summer Research Program started in 2010, the following papers have been written, submitted, and/or published by the participants.

1. Distribution of the exponents of primitive circulant matrices in the first four boxes of  Zn, by M.I. Bueno, K. Fang, S. Fuller, and S. Furtado. To appear in INVOLVE.

2. The solution of the equation AX+X*B=O, by F. De Teran, F. M. Dopico, N. Guillery, D. Montealegre, and N. Reyes. Submitted for publication.

3. The Alexander and Jones Polynomials through representations of rook algebras, by S. Bigelow, E. Ramos, and R. Yi. Submitted for publication.

4. Presentation of the Motzkin Monoid, by S. Bigelow, K. Hatch, M. Ly, and E. Posner. In preparation.

5. Consecutive integers in the set of exponents of primitive circulant matrices. By  M.I. Bueno,  M. Flaris, A. Padmarao, V. Saraph. In preparation.



The UCSB Mathematics Summer Research Program for Undergraduates  is supported by the National Science Foundation.  Additionally, this year two students will be supported by the Research Training Groups in Topology and Geometry program.
