Two CCS Math Students Ranked 3rd in Kaggle WiDS Datathon 2025 Competition

CCS Mathematics students Kathryn Lyu and Zhida Wang, guided by Professor Sui Tang (Math) and Professor Yu Guo (PSTAT),ranked 3rd  among 1,075 global teams in the 2025 Kaggle WiDS Datathon. Their approach integrated Graph Neural Networks and ensemble statistical methods to predict ADHD diagnosis using fMRI dataThe competition, led by the Ann S. Bowers Women’s Brain Health Initiative (WBHI) with Cornell University and UC Santa Barbara, leveraged datasets from the Healthy Brain Network (HBN) (Child Mind Institute) and the Reproducible Brain Charts (RBC) project.
