STRUCTURE
The four elected offices of La Sociedad de Tlaloc are:

Chair: Overall coordinator responsible for the direction of La Sociedad de Tlaloc. The chair will serve as the main spokesperson for the organization when communicating with other organizations.

Duties include:
- propose ideas and strategies for accomplishing goals and philosophies of La Sociedad de Tlaloc
- coordinating meeting/ speaker/ workshop schedules and locations
- gathering information on possible scholarship, research and internship opportunites for the members of La Sociedad de Tlaloc
- encouraging and coordinating student-student study sessions when applicable
- aid in acquiring tutors for the different subjects of the members
- to anticipate and identify both potential and actual needs of members (academic or otherwise)
- network with campus resources to meet those needs
- facilitate a tracking system of student involvement and success

As these duties are numerous and demanding of both time and energy, the current relationship between La Sociedad de Tlaloc and the California Alliance for Minority Participation in mathematics, science and engineering (CAMP) allows for the Chair to apply for and recieve the position of Academic Peer Facilitator as outlined in the Proposal of Academic Facilitator: La Sociedad de Tlaloc.

Executive Officer: Assistant coordinator of La Sociedad de Tlaloc emphasizing in publicity, outreach, and recruitment for the organization. The Executive Officer will serve as spokesperson for the organization when the Chair is not able to perform such duties. Also, the Executive Officer assists the Chair in all duties necessary for the achievement of La Sociedad de Tlaloc's stated goals and philosophies.

Duties include:
- assisting the Chair to execute all of the above listed duties of the Chair
- lead committees of publicity, outreach and recruitment
Just as the Chair is eligible to become a CAMP peer facilitator, the Executive Officer is also eligible due to the numerous duties and demands that will be placed upon this position.

Financial Officer: Chair of committee for fundraising and also in charge of maintaining the financial accounts of La Sociedad de Tlaloc.
Duties include:
- maintaining good standing of all financial accounts belonging to La Sociedad de Tlaloc
- lead committee of fundraising

Secretary: Chair of committee in charge of the smooth handling of paperwork between the various officers and members of La Sociedad de Tlaloc.
Duties include:
- taking of minutes of La Sociedad de Tlaloc meetings
- facilitate distribution and organization of paperwork related to La Sociedad de Tlaloc activities and interests

All elected offices have a term limit of one full year ( Spring Quarter to Spring Quarter).

Elections will be held annually in early Spring Quarter ( at least by 4th week of instruction). Immediately following elections, the active terms of the officers go into effect. All active members will be allowed to vote. To be an active member, one must attend at least 70% of the quarterly meetings and activities of La Sociedad de Tlaloc.

Requirements for becoming an officer:

To become Chair:
-1 year active involvement in La Sociedad de Tlaloc

To become Executive Officer, Financial Officer or Secretary:
- 2 quarters (any combonation of fall, winter, or spring) active involvement in La Sociedad de Tlaloc

Elected persons can be voted out of office for misconduct or failure to execute office properly by a two-thirds vote of the active body.

Advisory Council
The Advisory Council lends assistance in terms of financial, practical, academic, career and personal support. The individuals making up the Council all agree in the basic philosophies of La Sociedad de Tlaloc and are willing to lend whatever expertise they have to offer in helping student members succeed in the fields of math and science. Community professionals, university staff and faculty, and representatives of nation-wide organizations comprise the council membership. The Advisory Coucil meets quarterly with the students to make recommendations and plan strategies for the betterment of the organization as a whole. Meetings will be conducted and coordinated by Harold Salas-Kennedy, Advisory Council Chair and Principle Advisor to La Sociedad de Tlaloc. The only requirement to becoming an Advisory Coucil member is that the individual or organization be willing to believe in and committed to support the student members achieve their desired goals in the fields of math and science.
