Notice that this material was NOT specifically designed for the UCSB math class.
It's intended as an additional opportunity for you to review material and
practice problems.
- Computer Applet:
John Polking's Java Applet "DField" allows you to draw directional
fields and plot solutions for first order ODEs.
- Extra Help:
I strongly encourage you to sign up for free tutuorial services with CLAS
(=Campus Learning Assistance Service)
or the AP (=Achievement Program) .
The Math Lab (1607 South Hall, M-F, 12-5pm) can also assist you on mathematical problems.
- Grading:
On every exam Quality Bonus Points will be awarded for clear writing.
Only the highest midterm score will count for your final grade.
The weighting of your final grade will be 20% from your problem sets,
30% from the best midterm, 50% from the final.
The total score is the main factor in your grade; in addition, to pass Math 34B, you have to pass the final.
