Textbooks.
Algebraic Topology by Allen Hatcher,
Cambridge University Press (Required).
Description. Math 232B is the second quarter of the year-long
algebraic topology sequence. It is an introduction to cohomology.
Grading. The plan is to cover Chapter 3 of Hatcher, including
as many of the appendices as time allows. Homework assignments will
be given. Your grade will be determined by attendance, participation,
homework scores (including, possibly, some quizzes), and a final exam.
The final will most likely be take-home. The weights of each of these
are as follows.

Make-ups: Make-ups for exams will only be given with
documented University-approved excuses (see University Regulations).
