Textbook.
Algebraic Topology, by A. Hatcher (also available online at http://www.math.cornell.edu/~hatcher/)

Description. (4 units) We will cover all of chapters 0 and 1 in Hatcher, plus a few additional topics. Homotopy groups, exact sequences, fiber spaces, covering spaces and van Kampen Theorem will be the main focus of the course.

Grading. Your grade will be determined by homework scores, one midterm, a comprehensive take-home final exam and your participation in the class. The weights of each of these are as follows.

Make-ups. Make-ups for exams and quizzes will only be given with documented University-approved excuses (see University Regulations).
