Research Interests:
I am primarily interested in stochastic processes that arise in cellular and systems biology. I have recently been working with Paul Atzberger in Mathematics and Mustafa Khammash in Mechanical Engineering on some multiscale problems in stochastic chemical kinetics - a study originally motivated by some questions in stochastic gene expression.

Education:
PhD in Mathematics, October 2007, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
    Advisor: Richard Sowers
Thesis title: Stochastic averaging correctors for a noisy Hamiltonian system with discontinuous statistics

Preprints:
  1. Stochastic reduction method using time-scale separation in chemical kinetic systems and regulatory networks, with Paul J. Atzberger and Mustafa Khammash, (DRAFT - 11/02/09).
  2. Stochastic averaging correctors for a noisy Hamiltonian system with discontinuous statistics, (DRAFT - 11/02/09).
  3. Averaging of fluctuations in a multiscale gene transcription network, in preparation.
