In this course we will study mostly second order linear ordinary differential equations of the form
ay' '+by'+cy = f(x).

Since the equation is linear, it turns out that the set of solutions forms a finite dimensional vector space, which explains why we study Linear Algebra in this course.

In this course we will study functions of several variables, and extend the notions of continuity, differentiability, integrability, etc, already studied or function defined in R, to functions in R^n. Although knowledge of analysis in one dimension would be advantageous for this course, it is not strictly required, as we can always think of that case as n=1. A tentative syllabus follows:
